Joshua 7

Why did Israel lose the battle with Ai? What did it take for them to get back on track?

Am I harboring unconfessed sin, disobedience, and rebellion that may be preventing God from pouring out His full blessing on my life?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father God, Achan sinned by disobeying You, and the consequences of that sin were much more far-reaching than he could have ever imagined. But I am in no position to feel superior to Achan, for I have done the same thing many times, disobeying You because I think I know better, and trying to hide it from others. Lord, I give up my rebellion now, and repent and turn to You. Please keep me from anything that would cause You to withhold Your blessings in my life or that would cause harm to any of Your people. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for Kuna…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, in order to know what has been freely given to us by God. – 1 Corinthians 2:12 (HCSB)
