Joshua 10

How was Joshua able to so completely defeat all his enemies and take the region in one campaign (verse 42)?

Why do I so often fret and worry and run from challenges or try to conquer them in my own strength, when the Lord has already won the victory?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, As I read this chapter I am struck by how easily and totally You defeated all the enemies of Your people in the area. You alone are Almighty God! Thank You for Your encouragement to Joshua to not be afraid and Your promise that You had already handed them over to him before the battle even began. Just so, Lord, Christ has already won the victory over all the enemies of my Christian walk, and I have no need whatsoever to be afraid of them. Keep reminding me of that as You did Joshua, and help me to walk in Your victory! I pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew)
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for Star and Eagle

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

But when the completion of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. – Galatians 4:4-5 (HCSB)
