Proverbs 2

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

How high a priority should wisdom be? What is the result of seeking it like hidden treasure?

Do I call out to God for insight and understanding? Do I seek His wisdom like a treasure so I will understand how how to fear Him and gain knowledge from Him?

Dear Lord, Teach me to receive Your words and store up Your commands within me. My ear is attentive to You and I turn my heart to You, crying out for Your wisdom and discernment. Give me a hunger to seek it like priceless hidden treasure, so that I will know how to fear You and discover knowledge about You. For You are the source of all true wisdom, and your wisdom is a shield of protection. May your wisdom enter my heart and moral knowledge be attractive to me. Give me godly discretion to protect me and understanding to guard me from making wrong choices and being deceived into sin. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.
