Proverbs 20

What does verse 3 teach about disputes? How should one respond after being wronged (verse 22)?

Do I help to resolve disputes, or am I more often their cause? Do I mete out my own justice or trust God to take care of things?

Dear Lord, Teach me to be a peacemaker, for it is honorable to resolve a dispute, but any fool can get himself into a quarrel. When I am wronged, rather than saying, “I will avenge this evil!” may I wait on You, LORD, and You will rescue me. Thank You, Father! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for Ontario…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

Don’t work only while being watched, in order to please men, but as slaves of Christ, do God’s will from your heart. – Ephesians 6:6 (HCSB)
