Proverbs 21

What about our worship is most important to God (2-3)? Why can the person who follows God rest easy and be confident (30-31)?

Am I following God and worshiping Him from the heart, with a desire to obedient and do what’s right, or am I just “offering up sacrifices” that are worthless because I am not sincere? Does my lifestyle reflect confidence and trust in an infallible God who has won the victory?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Lord, I want to be more than a “Sunday go-to-meeting” Christian. I don’t want to be simply going through the motions to look good to others or to fulfill a duty. I ask You to give me a heart that deeply desire to follow You and love You–a heart that pleases You and worships You in spirit and in truth, and that walks in Your righteousness and justice. Help me to ignore the “wisdom” of myself, the world, and the forces of darkness, for no wisdom, no understanding, and no counsel will prevail against You, LORD. Victory comes from you, and from You alone! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
