What will wisdom do for me? What should I guard above all else?

Am I reaping any of the benefits of wisdom described in this chapter? If not, what do I need to do? Do I guard my heart above all else, making sure it remains true to God and His wisdom?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, I thank You that as Your Word says in James 1:5, You grant wisdom to anyone who asks for it. So I’m asking You now to give me Your wisdom, and to stir up in my heart a hunger for it. I ask that as I become wiser, I will begin to see the amazing benefits described in today’s passage start to grow in my life. Help me to guard my heart and not to allow it to stray from Your path. I pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew)
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. – Ephesians 1:7-8 (HCSB)
