Scripture

Galatians 1

Observation

Why did Jesus give himself for our sins? What should happen to anyone who preaches a different gospel contrary to the true Gospel of Christ?

Application

Am I grateful to Christ for rescuing me from this present evil age? Do I tolerate false doctrine merely for the sake of being viewed as “tolerant,” or because I don’t want to offend?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Father God, Thank You for the precious gift of Jesus Christ, Whose sacrifice saved me from sin and rescued me from this present evil age! May I ever sing only the praises of the one, true, Triune God! Because this salvation came at so great a cost, may I never water it down, add to it or subtract from it, or tolerate any form of false gospel! I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

Ministries:

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

CLF:

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for our national leaders

  • God’s anointing on them and a desire in them to follow Him
  • For Jesus to once again be Lord and King over our nation
  • For the president and cabinet to seek after God
  • For judges to rule justly and righteously
  • For senators & representatives to pass godly legislation and block sinful bills
  • That our government would protect its citizens and punish evildoers

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
so also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. – Hebrews 9:28 (HCSB)
