Observation
What did the entire Israelite community do in the wilderness just a month and a half after their miraculous deliverance from Egypt (2)? What did God do for them?
Application
Do I quickly forget what God has done for me and start complaining against Him and against His people? Am I satisfied and thankful with His provision?
Prayer
Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Keep me from having or developing a spirit that grumbles and complains. Instead, give me a spirit that is mindful of your great protection and provision, that remembers Your wonderful works, that trusts You to continue to provide and protect, that is satisfied with Your provision in whatever form you choose to give it, and that is ever thankful for who You are and what You have done! I pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!
Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:
- B – BODY (physical health)
- L – Labor (their job or school)
- E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
- S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
- S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:
- Mike Daniels
- Theresa Daniels
- Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew)
- Brian & Eileen Davis
Missionaries:
- Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania
CLF:
- That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.
Community: Pray for teens and young adults (middle school through college age) in our community
- For Godly influences and teachers
- For safety and protection from accidents, abuse, and predators
- Salvation for unbelievers
- For a heart to learn and to know God
- That they will not be prodigals, but remain true to God all the days of their lives
- That they would turn to God to fill every need, not to addictive substances and behaviors
- Respect for parents and other authority
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father–Jesus Christ the righteous One. – 1 John 2:1 (HCSB)
