Exodus 29

What is the underlying theme of the ordination of the priests (the triple cleansing with water, blood and fire)? What is the significance of the blood being applied to the their right ears, right thumbs, and right big toes?

Have I been washed clean eternally by Christ’s blood, and do I regularly get cleansed in this life by confessing my sin to God? Do I let the message of Christ permeate my life by hearing the Word of God, doing the work of God, and walking in the ways of God?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Lord, I come to You to be cleansed. I thank You for immersing me in the blood of Christ to wash away my sin. I praise you for the water of Your Word, that teaches me how to live a clean and holy life. And I thank You for the fire of your Spirit, who empowers me to live for You. As the blood was applied to the priest’s ear, may I filter everything I hear through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As it was applied to the priest’s right thumb, may I always work for You, doing whatever task is before me to Your glory. as the blood was applied to the priest’s big toe, may I walk in Your ways, constantly reminded of what Jesus did for me, so that remebrance would keep me from straying from Your path. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Chris & DeAnn Smith (Sasha, Noah, Gavin, Natalie)
  • Danielle Youngblood (Kayla, Kendra)
  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Brook & Erica Butts (Brooklyn, Boston)

  • Chapel Mission India

  • That we would be devoted to thanksgiving and praise to our Lord–for what He has done, for what He is doing, for what He will do, and for who He is–in good times and bad.

Community: Pray for the poor & imprisoned

  • Salvation
  • That they will trust in God’s provision
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • That they will have hope
  • For godly mentors in the prison/jail system

  • Jenn Austring
  • Sher Brodoski
  • Debbie & Amy Brueggemann
  • Chris Carlton

  • Lito Dictican, Port of Tacoma

  • That we will be devoted to evangelism and growth; that the Lord will add to our numbers those who are being saved.

Community: Pray for our national leaders

  • God’s anointing on them and a desire in them to follow Him
  • For Jesus to once again be Lord and King over our nation
  • For the president and cabinet to seek after God
  • For judges to rule justly and righteously
  • For senators & representatives to pass godly legislation and block sinful bills
  • That our government would protect its citizens and punish evildoers

Instead, just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please men, but rather God, who examines our hearts. – 1 Thessalonians 2:4 (HCSB)
