Exodus 31

What did God say He had done for the craftsmen (2-3, 6)?

Do I consider full-time pastors/teachers as somehow “above” those who work with their hands behind the scenes? Do I give godly Christian artists, tradesmen, and laborers the honor due them as ministers appointed by God and equipped by God? Do I do whatever work God has given me for His glory and to edify His people?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Thank You for appointing different people to different tasks, and for equipping each to do the task You’ve given. Keep me from a mindset of class-ism or elitism, and help me to be thankful for and to honor all of Your people in whatever ministry you’ve placed them. Help me not to compare myself to others, but to do whatever work You have given me wholeheartedly for You. I pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Joshua, Jonathan, Sophia)
  • Gil & Lois Estes
  • Gary Friend
  • Scott & Kristi Guinn (Josiah)

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Austria

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.

Community: Pray for County leaders…

  • Assessor, Coroner, Treasurer, Clerks, Judges, Prosecutors, Defenders, Sheriffs
  • that they would make sound financial decisions
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

Finally then, brothers, we ask and encourage you in the Lord Jesus, that as you have received from us how you must walk and please God—as you are doing—do so even more. – 1 Thessalonians 4:1 (HCSB)
