*NOTE: There was a typo in yesterday’s installment. The passage for the day should have been Exodus 17, not Exodus 9. My apologies. This has been corrected on the website. – Scott

Observation
How did Jethro respond to Moses’ report of God’s work? What advice did he give Moses?
Application
How do I respond upon hearing how God is working in the lives of other believers? Am I overextending myself–is there some area I need to delegate to others?
Prayer
Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, Make me a person who rejoices over all the good things You do in the lives of Your people, and lead me to worship You. Lord, show me when I need to personally carry out tasks, but also please show me when I need to delegate tasks to others when the tasks are too heavy for me and I can’t do it alone. Bring people around me who will help, so that I do not wear out myself and others. I pray these things in Jesus’ name, Amen!
Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:
- B – BODY (physical health)
- L – Labor (their job or school)
- E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
- S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
- S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:
- Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
- David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
- Bob & Peggy Hoover
Ministry:
- Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing
CLF:
- Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.
Community: Pray for outreaches & service projects
- Creative strategies
- Volunteers
- Anointing of the Holy Spirit
- Believers working together in unity
- Provision of necessary resources
- Salvation for people reached
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father–Jesus Christ the righteous One. – 1 John 2:1 (HCSB)
