Exodus 39-40

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What was the state of things when the work on the tabernacle and its associated items was completed (39:42-43)? What phrase is repeated over and over in chapter 40 in regard to what Moses was doing? What did God do in response (40:34)?

Do I do things just as the Lord commands? Am I regularly experiencing the presence of God? If not, why not?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father in Heaven, Thank You for the example of the Israeli craftsmen and of Moses. When my life is complete, may people be able to truthfully say that I did everything just as You had commanded me. I thank You that You are God and that Your glory fills heaven and earth, and yet You allow Your people to bask in Your presence. Help me to live in such a way that I dwell daily in Your presence. I pray these things in Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for Ontario…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path of sinners, or join a group of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the LORD’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. – Psalm 1:1-2 (HCSB)
