Observation

What did God do for us (4-7)? How did God reconcile Jews and Gentiles and make us one people (11-16)? What is the result (18-22)?

Application

Do I truly understand that I have not only been saved from sin, but I have been given a seat with Christ in Heaven? Do I walk in that, or do I live as if I am still a slave to sin? Do I consider all believers as brothers and sisters–fellow citizens in God’s kingdom–regardless of earthly heritage?

Prayer

Dear God my Father, Thank You that You are abundant in mercy, grace, and love! For You have made me alive in Christ even though I was dead in sin, and raised me up with Him and given me a seat with him in Heaven, that You might display for all time the immeasurable riches of Your grace and kindness in Christ Jesus. Thank You for drawing me into Your family, because Jews and Gentiles are now one since Christ tore down the dividing wall of hostility at the cross. We now have access to the same Spirit by the same Father through the same Savior. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

Ministry:

  • Boise Rescue Mission

CLF:

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for Public Service Professionals (Firefighters, law enforcement, and medical personnel)…

  • Strength to serve well
  • Safety/health
  • Salvation for lost & ministry opportunities for saved
  • Strong family/marriage relationships
  • Strong, God-honoring friendships

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path of sinners, or join a group of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the LORD’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. – Psalm 1:1-2 (HCSB)
