Ephesians 5

How are we to imitate God? Why should we make the most of our time? What is the key to successful and effective interpersonal relationships (21)?

Am I living a life that imitates God? Do I understand that these are evil days and the time is short? Do I submit to others in the fear of Christ?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, As one of Your dear children, I want to imitate my Father. Remind me to walk in love as Christ did, giving Himself for me as a sacrificial, fragrant offering to You. Remind me to abstain from immorality, impurity, and greed, and to walk as a child of the light, displaying goodness, righteousness, and truth. Rather than participate in deeds of darkness, help me to expose them, paying careful attention to how I walk– as a wise person, making the most of my time because the days are evil. Fill me with Your Spirit. Move me to encourage others with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, making music in my heart to You, giving You thanks for everything in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Help me to submit to others instead of demanding my own way. I pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Joshua, Jonathan, Sophia)
  • Gil & Lois Estes
  • Gary Friend
  • Scott & Kristi Guinn (Josiah)

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Austria

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.

Community: Pray for Teachers & Administrators & School Boards

  • Godly curriculum
  • God’s wisdom in teaching and leading
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • Ability to inspire a love of truth and learning

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His ways! – Romans 11:33 (HCSB)
