Exodus 20

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

In this chapter, God gave Moses the Ten Commandments. Jesus said the entire law was summed up by loving God and loving people. How does that apply to the Ten Commandments?

Do I show my love for God and other people by keeping His commands?

Dear Lord, Thank You for Your perfect and eternal Law. And thank You that Jesus fulfilled it perfectly when I couldn’t, and died in my place to pay the price for my sin. Help me to obey You out of my love for You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for the salvation of the lost

  • Readiness to repent
  • Hearts prepared to hear God’s voice
  • A Deep dissatisfaction and unrest with life without Him
  • Godly influences

My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father–Jesus Christ the righteous One. – 1 John 2:1 (HCSB)
