How can we obtain relief from worry (6-7)? How do we change our mental attitude to be more like Christ’s (8)? How can we content and secure, regardless of financial circumstances (11-13, 19)?

Do I worry about things, or do I give them to God? Am I mentally dwelling on the things that will make me more like Jesus? Am I thankful, content and secure whether I have little or much?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Keep me from the stress and anxiety that is brought on by worry, for I can’t change a thing by worrying about it. Instead, lead me to bring all those issues to you and trust you to show me the way, and give me Your peace that surpasses every thought to guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help me to renew my mind by dwelling on things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and praiseworthy. I confess that too often I focus on the things I don’t have instead of being thankful for the things I have, and I worry about how I’m going to get the things I need. Lord, help me to trust You to provide ALL my needs (not all my wants, but all my needs) according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Help me to look to You and to be content in whatever circumstances I am, whether I have a little or a lot, whether well-fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I cannot do this on my own, but I thank You that I am able to do all things through Your strength. I pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew)
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

But based on His promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness will dwell. – 2 Peter 3:13 (HCSB)
