Observation

For what did Jesus instruct His followers to pray? For what did He tell them they should rejoice?

Application

Do I pray for the lost and for God to send workers to share the Gospel with them? Do I rejoice more about other things than the fact that my name is written in heaven?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father in heaven, The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. I pray that You would send out workers into Your harvest. I thank You that Satan has no power over me, but I don’t rejoice in that, I rejoice that my name is written in the Book of Life in heaven because of what Christ has done for me! In the name of Christ Jesus I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

SATURDAY

  • That God will provide them with meaningful work & ministry in which to use their gifts
