Genesis 12

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What promise did God God make to Abram? How did he show that he believed God? How did he show that he did not trust God, and what were the consequences?

Do I trust God and believe that He keeps His promises? How am I responding to his call on my life right now?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Thank You for Your unconditional love and grace. Thank You for making and keeping a covenant with Abram. Help me to follow his example when he heard Your word and immediately obeyed it and followed You to the land You showed him, but help me not to follow his example when he took matters into his own hands when he went to Egypt. Thank You that, even then, You protected him and Sarai. You are faithful, God! In Jesus’ name, Amen

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for County leaders…

  • Assessor, Coroner, Treasurer, Clerks, Judges, Prosecutors, Defenders, Sheriffs
  • that they would make sound financial decisions
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

how much more will the blood of the Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God? – Hebrews 9:14 (HCSB)
