Observation

After Abram and his men rescued Lot, what happened between him and Melchizedek? How did Abram respond when the king of Sodom tried to reward him?

Application

Do I offer God praise, worship, and glory for all the things He has done? Am I careful to place my relationship with God above rewards and wealth?

Prayer

Dear Father, Thank You for Your great victory on behalf of Abram and Lot. Thank You that Melchizedek gave You praise and instructed Abram to do the same, and that Abram obeyed. Help me to do likewise when i experience victory, for I know it comes from You and not from me. Help me to be like Abram, who refused rewards from a wicked king so that none but You would receive the glory. I ask this for Jesus’ sake and in His name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

Ministry:

  • Boise Rescue Mission

CLF:

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for Boise & Garden City…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials
  • Gowan Field Military Base

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
how much more will the blood of the Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God? – Hebrews 9:14 (HCSB)
