LIFe with God: February 25-26

Genesis 21

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What does verse 1 teach about the character and nature of God? How does God’s promise to Hagar and Ishmael reveal His heart toward Gentiles? What about Abraham’s life did even Abimelech, a pagan king, recognize (22)? How did Abraham acknowledge that God deserved all the credit (33)?

Do I take confidence in God from verse 1? Do I believe God loves all people and wants to see them come to Him (2 Peter 3:9)? Do I give God all the credit and glory for all good things in my life? Do I regularly and actively worship and praise Him?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father in heaven, Thank You that You are a God of perfect integrity, who always keeps Your promises! Thank You for loving even people like me, who deserve nothing but wrath and judgment. I give You all glory, honor, praise and worship, for I am nothing apart from the salvation by grace You gave me through Jesus! In His name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.
