Observation
How did Abraham demonstrate his faith in God with his instructions to his servant? How did the servant demonstrate his faith in God? Hod did he respond when God answered his prayer? How did Laban and Bethuel show their faith in God (50-51)? And how did God show that all of this was his will (67)?
Application
Am I trusting and obeying God as a rule in my life, or as the exception to the rule? Do I thank God for answered prayer and give Him the glory?
Prayer
Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Thank You for Your guidance and help every step of the way in bringing Rebekah as a wife for Isaac. Give me a heart that believes You, trusts you, obeys You, seeks You and glorifies You! In Jesus’ name, Amen
Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:
- B – BODY (physical health)
- L – Labor (their job or school)
- E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
- S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
- S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:
- Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
- David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
- Bob & Peggy Hoover
Ministry:
- Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing
CLF:
- Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.
Community: Pray for Teachers & Administrators & School Boards
- Godly curriculum
- God’s wisdom in teaching and leading
- Salvation for unbelievers
- Ability to inspire a love of truth and learning
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
Not that I have already reached the goal or am already fully mature, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus. – Philippians 3:12 (HCSB)
