Observation

What was God’s one limitation regarding eating the fruit in the garden, and what did He say would be the consequence of disobedience? Why did God make woman (18)?

Application

Am I satisfied with the incredible bounty of blessings God gives, or do I seek after the things He forbids? Do I understand that God gives boundaries for my good, and there are negative consequences to ignoring them?

Prayer

Dear Father, Help me to remember that You are the Creator and Giver of all good things, and You know what is best for me. I confess that too often I fail to trust in Your goodness when You put down limitations and boundaries. Help me to trust Your loving Father heart, and to follow and obey You, knowing it is for my good. I ask this for Jesus’ sake and in His name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

Ministry:

  • Boise Rescue Mission

CLF:

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for area pastors and their families:

  • Encouragement
  • Faithfulness in the Lord’s work
  • Finances
  • Marriage/family relationships
  • Work/life balance
  • Deep friendships and support from other Christian leaders

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. – 1 John 4:4 (HCSB)
