Observation
What did Paul and company do when they discovered a plot to kill them (5-7)? How did they respond when they realized people were calling them gods (14-15)? What did they tell the believers (22)?
Application
Do I persevere in sharing Christ? Do I give all the glory to God? Am I committed to continue in the faith, understanding that it is necessary to pass through many troubles on our way into the kingdom of God?
Prayer
Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear God, May I keep evangelizing, no matter what opposition I face. May I never take any credit or glory that belongs to You. Strengthen my heart and encourage me to continue in the faith. Help me to remember, “It is necessary to pass through many troubles on our way into the kingdom of God.” In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:
- B – BODY (physical health)
- L – Labor (their job or school)
- E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
- S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
- S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:
- Pat & Hannah Kelley
- Joe & Sheala Lehosit
- Fred & Shirley Leonard
- Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
- Michael Morgan
