Acts 26

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

In a nutshell, what was Paul’s defense (19-20)? What important point does he make when testifying before the Jewish leader (22-23), and what was was Agrippa’s response (28)? What was Paul’s desire (29)?

Would I be able to testify that I have not been disobedient to God’s calling? Do I take my listeners’ backgrounds into account when I share Jesus? Is my desire before God that, whether easily or with difficulty, people will come to Christ?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear God, I ask that Your Spirit would move in me to follow His calling in my life. Help me to be an effective witness for Christ, and to understand that while the content of the gospel remains the same, the method of delivery may need to change for different people. I desire before You that whether easily or with difficulty, all who listen to me will come to Christ. In His name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Joe & Sheala Lehosit
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for the elderly…

  • That they will be treated respectfully
  • That they will not dwell on mistakes and regret
  • That God will provide for their health and finances
  • That God will protect them from those who would try to harm them
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • Any broken family relationships restored before they pass on

Now I implore you, brothers, watch out for those who cause dissensions and pitfalls contrary to the doctrine you have learned. Avoid them; for such people do not serve our Lord Christ. – Romans 16:17-18 (HCSB)
