Jude 1

Observation

Why did Jude write this letter (2)? What was the problem (3)? What was the solution (17,20-21)?

Application

Do I contend for the faith? Am I on my guard against false teachers and false teaching? What am I doing to build myself up in the faith?

Prayer

Dear Father, Strengthen me to contend for the faith. Give me discernment to recognize false teachers and the errors they promote, and wisdom to know how best to counter them. And please show me how to build my faith and keep me in Your love. Thank You for Your great mercy and the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

Ministry:

  • Boise Rescue Mission

CLF:

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for our national leaders

  • God’s anointing on them and a desire in them to follow Him
  • For Jesus to once again be Lord and King over our nation
  • For the president and cabinet to seek after God
  • For judges to rule justly and righteously
  • For senators & representatives to pass godly legislation and block sinful bills
  • That our government would protect its citizens and punish evildoers

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, and true circumcision is not something visible in the flesh. On the contrary, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart–by the Spirit, not the letter. His praise is not from men but from God. – Romans 2:28-29 (HCSB)
