Romans 11

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What came as a result of the Jews “stumbling” over Christ (11)? What has happened to Gentile believers in the olive tree analogy (16-17)? Why should we not brag?

Do I think myself better than others/brag and boast because I have received God’s grace?

Dear Father, Keep me from a proud spirit that thinks I somehow earned Your grace and therefore I am better than others. Remind me that in Christ there is no Jew or Gentile, slave or free, but only brothers and sisters in the Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for the elderly…

  • That they will be treated respectfully
  • That they will not dwell on mistakes and regret
  • That God will provide for their health and finances
  • That God will protect them from those who would try to harm them
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • Any broken family relationships restored before they pass on

For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are completely His. – 2 Chronicles 16:9a (HCSB)
