What is the mandate given to all true Christians in verses 1-2? How are we to use our gifts in the Body of Christ? How are we to treat our enemies and those who mistreat us?

Am I offering my life to God in worship? Am I transforming my mind through His word? Am I using the gifts that God gave me to minister to and for His people? Do I treat those who mistreat and abuse me with love and kindness?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father in heaven, Thank You for this chapter of Scripture that shows us what the Christian life looks like when lived out in the daily grind of this world. Help me to transform my mind by Your word and not allow myself to be conformed to the mindset of this sinful culture. Remind me to use the gifts You have given me to build up the Body of Christ, and help me to follow Your example of showing love and kindness, even to those who call themselves my enemies. I ask this in the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Chris & DeAnn Smith (Sasha, Noah, Gavin, Natalie)
  • James Williams
  • Danielle Youngblood (Kayla, Kendra)

  • Chapel Mission India

  • That we would be devoted to thanksgiving and praise to our Lord–for what He has done, for what He is doing, for what He will do, and for who He is–in good times and bad.

Community: Pray for your neighbors…

  • That God would provide opportunities for you to minister to them
  • That unbelievers would receive Christ as Savior and Lord
  • For their marriages / family relationships
  • For their finances / employment
  • Any specific needs of which you’re aware

  • Jenn Austring
  • Sher Brodoski
  • Debbie & Amy Brueggemann
  • Brook & Erica Butts (Brooklyn, Boston)
  • Chris Carlton

  • Lito Dictican

  • That we will be devoted to evangelism and growth; that the Lord will add to our numbers those who are being saved.

Community: Pray for the poor & imprisoned

  • Salvation
  • That they will trust in God’s provision
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • That they will have hope
  • For godly mentors in the prison/jail system

For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are completely His. – 2 Chronicles 16:9a (HCSB)
