Romans 4

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

How was Abraham justified (made right before God)? How are we? What is credited to those who believe Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead?

Do I still try to earn acceptance from God, or do I follow the example set by Abraham? Do make sure my faith is in Jesus, who was delivered for my sin and raised for my justification, or is my faith in myself, or something else?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father, Give me a faith like Abraham, who did not waver in unbelief at Your promise, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to You, because he was fully convinced that what You had promised You were also able to perform. Thank You that because I believe that Jesus is Lord and that You raised Him from the dead, the righteousness of Christ is credited to me! Help me to walk in that and not fall into the trap of trying to be justified through my own efforts. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Joe & Sheala Lehosit
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for outreaches & service projects

  • Creative strategies
  • Volunteers
  • Anointing of the Holy Spirit
  • Believers working together in unity
  • Provision of necessary resources
  • Salvation for people reached

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. – Proverbs 14:12 (HCSB)
