Romans 10

What do verses 2-3 teach us about the philosophy that “it’s not what you believe that matters, but how passionately you believe it”? What is the message of faith that we proclaim (8-10)? Who will be saved (13)?

Do I water down the gospel in order not to offend those who think it “narrow-minded”? Do proclaim that the only way to salvation and justification before God is to confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead? Do I encourage people to call on Him?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father, Keep me from compromising the truth of Your Word and Your plan of salvation. All the passion, sincerity, zeal and faith in the world mean nothing if the object is anything other than Christ crucified and risen again! There is no other Lord and there is no other way. Help me to see opportunities to share this with others and to encourage them to call on You and You alone to be saved. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Joe & Sheala Lehosit
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for marriages in our community…

  • that Christ-like love would be exhibited
  • for good communication between spouses
  • for unity in finances
  • salvation for non-believing spouses
  • that they would balance work and home life
  • that Godly friends and mentors would come alongside them.

For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are completely His. – 2 Chronicles 16:9a (HCSB)
