Psalm 62

How does David have peace and confidence even when wicked men are trying to destroy him?

Do I trust in the Lord at all times and rest in Him as my rock, stronghold, and salvation?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father, I am at rest in You alone; my salvation comes from You. You alone are my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will never be shaken. No matter long men threaten or attack me, or they try to tear me down and take pleasure in lying, or they bless with their mouths, but they curse inwardly, my soul rests in You alone, for my hope comes from You. You alone are my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will not be shaken. My salvation and glory depend on You; my strong rock, my refuge, is in You. Help me to trust in You at all times, and pour out my heart before You. You are my refuge. Men are only a vapor; exalted men, an illusion. On a balance scale, they go up; together they weigh less than a vapor. So even if men come against me with oppression and robbery, even if in their wickedness their wealth increases, help me pay no attention to it. For strength belongs to You, God, and faithful love belongs to You, LORD. For You repay each according to his works. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Joe & Sheala Lehosit
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for our national leaders

  • God’s anointing on them and a desire in them to follow Him
  • For Jesus to once again be Lord and King over our nation
  • For the president and cabinet to seek after God
  • For judges to rule justly and righteously
  • For senators & representatives to pass godly legislation and block sinful bills
  • That our government would protect its citizens and punish evildoers

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God–God remains in him and he in God. And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. – 1 John 4:15-16 (HCSB)
