Psalm 71

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What does the psalmist declare he will do as life goes on (14,17-18)? Why (16,19,23)?

Do I offer God the praise that is rightfully His? Do I continue to do so more and more as I go through life?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, You are my hope, Lord GOD, my confidence from my youth. I have leaned on You from birth; You took me from my mother’s womb. My praise is always about You. My mouth is full of praise and honor to You all day long. I will hope continually and will praise You more and more. My mouth will tell about Your righteousness and Your salvation all day long, though I cannot sum them up. I come because of the mighty acts of the Lord GOD; I will proclaim Your righteousness, Yours alone. God, You have taught me from my youth, and I still proclaim Your wonderful works. Even when I am old and gray, God, I will proclaim Your power to another generation, Your strength to all who are to come. Your righteousness reaches heaven, God, You who have done great things; God, who is like You? I will praise You for Your faithfulness, my God; I will sing to You, Holy One of Israel. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to You, because You have redeemed me. Therefore, my tongue will proclaim Your righteousness all day long. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brian & Eileen Davis
  • Patti Doty

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Rural towns in Treasure Valley – Emmett, Greenleaf, Homedale, Marsing, Middleton, New Plymouth, Parma, Payette, Wilder, Weiser, etc…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no plans to satisfy the fleshly desires. – Romans 13:14 (HCSB)
