Observation
How does David describe God in this psalm (5,8,10,13,1516-17)?
Application
Do I base my prayer on my attributes or on God’s attributes?
Prayer
Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Remind me that I can stand before You and come to You in prayer, not based on anything I have done, but based purely on who You are and what You have done! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:
- B – BODY (physical health)
- L – Labor (their job or school)
- E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
- S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
- S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:
- Pat & Hannah Kelley
- Joe & Sheala Lehosit
- Fred & Shirley Leonard
- Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
- Michael Morgan
Ministry:
- Genesis World Mission
CLF:
- That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.
Community: Pray for your neighbors…
- That God would provide opportunities for you to minister to them
- That unbelievers would receive Christ as Savior and Lord
- For their marriages / family relationships
- For their finances / employment
- Any specific needs of which you’re aware
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. – 1 Corinthians 13:13 (HCSB)
