Psalm 95

What two primary attributes of God does the psalmist give as reasons to rejoice and worship Him (3-6 and 7)?

Do I praise God as the Creator of all things, including myself? Do I worship Him as the God who tenderly cares for me like a shepherd cares for his sheep?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, I shout joyfully to You, the rock of my salvation! I enter Your presence with thanksgiving and shout triumphantly to You in song. For You, LORD, are a great God, a great King above all gods. The depths of the earth are in Your hand, and the mountain peaks are Yours. The sea is Yours; You made it. Your hands formed the dry land. So I worship and bow down; I kneel before You, LORD, my Maker. For You are my God, and I am one of the the people of Your pasture, a sheep under Your care. Today, if I hear Your voice, may I not harden my heart as Israel did in the wilderness. Help me to dwell in Christ, my rest. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brandon & Lindsey Dockins
  • Patti Doty

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray for God to direct each shoe box gift into the hands of just the right child so that each one will experience His unconditional love and provision.

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for Star and Eagle

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free–and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. – 1 Corinthians 12:13 (HCSB)
