Psalm 99

What does this psalm teach us regarding the sovereignty of God? About His faithfulness?

Do I submit myself to God’s sovereignty? Do I exalt Him and thank him for His faithfulness?

Dear Father, You reign! Let the peoples of the earth tremble before You. You are enthroned above the cherubim. Let the earth quake. You are great in Zion and exalted above all the peoples. Let them praise Your great and awe-inspiring name. You are holy and the mighty King Who loves justice. You have established fairness; You have administered justice and righteousness. I exalt You, LORD our God; I bow in worship at Your footstool. You are holy. Moses and Aaron were among Your priests; Samuel also was among those calling on Your name. They called to You, LORD, and You answered them. You spoke to them in a pillar of cloud; they kept Your decrees and the statutes You gave them. LORD our God, You answered them. You were a God who forgave them, but punished their misdeeds. I exalt You, LORD our God; I bow in worship for You, LORD God are holy. Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Michael Morgan
  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray for the National Leadership Team volunteers who work with local churches to distribute the shoe boxes and to implement “The Greatest Journey.”

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for Outreach Ministries

  • God’s creative provision
  • For sound financial management and strategies
  • Salvation and spiritual growth for those to whom they minister
  • God’s anointing and leading for projects and programs
  • Volunteers and workers

For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free–and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. – 1 Corinthians 12:13 (HCSB)
