Psalm 113

How long should God be praised? What does He do for the poor and needy?

Do I praise the Lord day and night? Do I thank Him for providing my physical needs, and even more for lifting me up from my spiritual poverty?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, I give You praise, now and forevermore! May Your name be praised from the rising of the sun to its setting. You are exalted above the nations, and Your glory is above the heavens. There is none like you, enthroned on high, who stoops to look on the heavens and earth. You raise the poor from the dust and lift he needy from the garbage pile in order to seat them with nobles–with the nobles of Your people. You give the childless woman a household, making her the joyful mother of children. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brandon & Lindsey Dockins
  • Patti Doty

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray for God to direct each shoe box gift into the hands of just the right child so that each one will experience His unconditional love and provision.

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for the poor & imprisoned

  • Salvation
  • That they will trust in God’s provision
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • That they will have hope
  • For godly mentors in the prison/jail system

LORD, I have heard the report about You; LORD, I stand in awe of Your deeds. Revive Your work in these years; make it known in these years. In Your wrath remember mercy! – Habakkuk 3:2(HCSB)
