Psalm 119:145-160

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

How did the psalmist pray (145)? When did he pray (147-148)? For what did he pray (149, 153-159)? What did he trust (147, 149, 151-152, 160)?

Do I go to God in prayer with my whole heart, at all times, asking for His protection and provision, and trusting that He will do what is right?

Dear Father, Teach me to call on You with my whole heart at all times. I confess that too often I am quick to trust in myself and to lose faith in You. Remind me that You made me and You are the One who can do all things. Thank You for saving me for eternity! Help me to trust You with today and tomorrow. I believe You will hear me, in keeping with Your faithful love, and I believe that Your word is true forever and You will keep Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Michael Morgan
  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray for the National Leadership Team volunteers who work with local churches to distribute the shoe boxes and to implement “The Greatest Journey.”

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for young children in our community

  • For Godly influences
  • For safety and protection from accidents, abuse, and predators
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For a heart to learn and to know God from a young age
  • That they will not be prodigals, but remain true to God all the days of their lives

To Him who loves us and has set us free from our sins by His blood, and made us a kingdom, priests to His God and Father–to Him be the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. – Revelation 1:5b-6 (HCSB)
