Psalm 139

What does David point out regarding God’s presence and knowledge? What statements give us a biblical basis for opposing abortion?

Do I have comfort, fear, or some of both when contemplating that there is nowhere I can go where God will not see me? Do I stand up for the sanctity of human life, even in the womb?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, No matter where I go, You are there. That is a comfort to me because I am never outside of Your presence or protection. But it is also convicting, because it means you see every sin I commit and I cannot hide anything from You. And yet You love me anyway, and decided before time to create me, remarkably and wonderfully. I pray that Your people would stand up for the sanctity of human life and the rights of the unborn, and that this nation would put an end to the legalized mass-murder of human babies. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Deborah Halkola
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray that the boxes will open doors for children to hear the Good News in parts of the world that are typically closed to proclaiming the Gospel.

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for the poor & imprisoned

  • Salvation
  • That they will trust in God’s provision
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • That they will have hope
  • For godly mentors in the prison/jail system

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6 (HCSB)(HCSB)
