Psalm 144-145

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What are some of things for which David praises God in Psalm 144? What does he say is required for a nation to be happy? What attributes of God does David praise in Psalm 145?

Do I praise God for taking care of me, for saving me, for caring about me? While I can’t control my nation, is He the Lord of my home? Do I praise Him both for His many blessings and for who He is?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father in Heaven, I praise You, my rock, my faithful love, my fortress, my stronghold, and my deliverer. You are my shield and I take refuge in You. I do not understand why You care for me and love me enough to send Your Son to die for me, but I’m so glad that You do! I will sing praises to You, for You have lavished me with many blessings. I am happy because You, Lord, are my God. I exalt You, my God the King, and praise Your name forever and ever. I will praise You every day; I will honor Your name forever and ever. Yahweh, You are great and highly praised; Your greatness is unsearchable. I will speak of Your glorious splendor and Your wonderful works. I will give a testimony of Your great goodness and will joyfully sing of Your righteousness. For You are gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and great in faithful love. You are good to everyone; Your compassion rests on all You have made. All You have made will praise You, LORD; the godly will bless You. They will speak of the glory of Your kingdom and will declare Your might, informing all people of Your mighty acts and of the glorious splendor of Your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom; Your rule is for all generations. You are faithful in all Your words and gracious in all Your actions. You help all who fall; You raise up all who are oppressed. All eyes look to You, and You give them their food in due time. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. You are righteous in all Your ways and gracious in all Your acts. You are near all who call out to You with integrity. You fulfill the desires of those who fear You; You hear their cry for help and save them. You guard all those who love You, but You destroy all the wicked. My mouth will declare Your praise; let every living thing praise Your holy name forever and ever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
