Observation
What are the primary issues regarding the Gospel? What is the result for those who believe?
Application
Do I sometimes make secondary and tertiary issues more important than Christ crucified, buried, risen, and returning? Do I truly believe He will come again and resurrect His people?
Prayer
Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father God, Help me to keep my focus in the right place, on the essentials of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May I never set my own opinions or disputable matters on a level anywhere approaching the pure gospel. Keep me from doubt and help me to live each day with an ever-increasing faith in the return of Jesus and the resurrection of the saints. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:
- B – BODY (physical health)
- L – Labor (their job or school)
- E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
- S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
- S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:
- Darrell & Fralina Leatham
- Fred & Shirley Leonard
- Tris & Chris Miller
- Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
- Michael & Jenn Morgan
Ministry:
- Genesis World Mission
CLF:
- That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.
Community: Pray for Boise & Garden City…
- That city leaders would submit to God
- That people can find and keep gainful employment
- For sound financial management by city officials
- Salvation for unbelievers
- For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials
- Gowan Field Military Base
