Zechariah 11

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

In what way does this passage prophesy of the Jews’ rejection of Jesus and Judas’ betrayal? What End Times world leader is spoken of in verse 16? What will become of him?

Considering the fact that this book was written over 500 years before Christ and predicted His rejection and betrayal (right down to the amount of the bribe, the casting of the 30 silver coins into the temple, and the mention of the coins going “to the potter,” which was the name of the field the Pharisee’s bought with the returned ransom) how much stock do I put in the prophecy of the Antichrist rising to power and being judged? Do I need more proof of the truth and supernatural origin of the Bible?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Thank You for the details in Your Word that prove that it IS Your Word! Thank You for strengthening and encouraging my faith. Keep me from doubting the truth of Your Word or the fulfillment of Your promises and prophecies. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Gary Friend
  • Scott & Kristi Guinn (Josiah)
  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Deborah Halkola
  • Robin & Florence Henderson

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Austria

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.

Community: Pray for Meridian

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape so that you are able to bear it. – 1 Corinthians 10:13 (HCSB)
