How are the different age groups and sexes to interact in the church (1-10a)? Why (10b-14)?

Do I act as instructed here to those of my age/sex? Do I treat others in the church as taught here? Do I understand that Christ died, not just to save me from hell, but to deliver me from the power of sin so that i could do good works?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Thank You for the clear instruction of Your Word regarding how to interact with others in the church. May I follow the instructions in this chapter for Your glory, for the church’s good, and for my own good, and so that the gospel message will not be slandered. For Your grace that brings salvation has appeared to me, teaching me to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, while I wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of my great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people for His own possession, eager to do good works. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brandon & Lindsey Dockins
  • Patti Doty
  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Mattea, Joseph, Joshua, Sophia, Jonathan)
  • Gil & Lois Estes

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for Public Service Professionals (Firefighters, law enforcement, and medical personnel)…

  • Strength to serve well
  • Safety/health
  • Salvation for lost & ministry opportunities for saved
  • Strong family/marriage relationships
  • Strong, God-honoring friendships

Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body. – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (HCSB)
