Titus 3

What positive traits are God’s people to have (1-2,8,14)? What negative traits are God’s people to avoid (3,9-11)? How are we saved (4-6)?

Do I nurture the positive traits in this chapter and put off the negative ones? Do I trust in anything other than or in addition to the grace of God for my salvation?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Help me to live a life displaying all of the godly traits in this chapter and none of the sinful ones. I thank You that when Your goodness and love appeared in the person and work of Jesus Christ, You saved me–not by works of righteousness that I had done, but according to Your mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. Thank You that You poured out this Spirit on me abundantly through Jesus Christ my Savior, so that having been justified by His grace, I may become an heir with the hope of eternal life. May I always insist that there is no other gospel but this, and reject anyone who claims to belong to Christ but is divisive and teaches another gospel. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Gary Friend
  • Scott & Kristi Guinn (Josiah)
  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Deborah Halkola
  • Robin & Florence Henderson

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Austria

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.

Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body. – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (HCSB)
