Matthew 12:24-50

What was Jesus’ argument in response to being accused by the Pharisees of being an agent of Satan? What did he say a person reveals by his speech? What sign did He promise them? Who does He claim as His family?

What does my speech reveal about my heart? Do I recognize and accept the sign of Christ’s resurrection as proof that He is God and the only one who can save from sin and death? Am I a member of His family?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, Give me a heart like Yours and a mouth that reveals it! Thank You that Jesus rose from the dead in power and glory, proving that He was and is the Son of God and the only means to reconciliation with You and deliverance from sin and death! I thank You and praise You that, because of Jesus, I am a member of Your family, and by Your Spirit that indwells me I can do Your will! In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover
  • Fred & Gwen Iovine
  • Pat & Hannah Kelley

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Although I am a free man and not anyone’s slave, I have made myself a slave to everyone, in order to win more people. – 1 Corinthians 9:19 (HCSB)
