Matthew 3

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

How did John see himself in regard to Jesus? How does this passage reveal the doctrine of the Trinity?

Do I have the proper perspective of who I am and who Jesus is? Do I believe in and declare one God eternally coexisting in three persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Thank You for the example of John the baptizer. Strengthen me to stand for truth as he did. May I apply his message in my life by producing fruit consistent with repentance. May I have a right perspective of who I am and who Christ is, as he did. And may I ever hold true to you, the Triune God, one God eternally coexisting in three persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brandon & Lindsey Dockins
  • Patti Doty
  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Mattea, Joseph, Joshua, Sophia, Jonathan)
  • Gil & Lois Estes

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.
