2 Corinthians 12:11-13:14

What are Paul’s fears regarding his upcoming visit to Corinth (12:20-21)? What are his hopes (13:7-10)?

Does my lifestyle more closely resembles one that Paul feared to find, or one that he hoped to find?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Help me to be a person who who will be found as You want me to be. Keep me from quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder. Help me to repent any time I have done anything that causes impurity. Keep me from indulging in sexual sin and debauchery. I thank You that Christ is not weak in dealing with us, but is powerful among us, for though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by Your power. Likewise, by Your power I live with Him to serve Your children. Help me to continually test myself to make sure I am walking with You. Continue to complete the work You began in me when I came to salvation. Help me to aim for perfection, to listen to the appeal of the teaching in Your Word, to be of one mind with Your followers, and to live in peace. I thank You that You are the source of love and peace, and You are always with me. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and Your love, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with me and with all who call Jesus their Lord. In the precious Name of Jesus, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Gary Friend
  • Scott & Kristi Guinn (Josiah)
  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Deborah Halkola
  • Robin & Florence Henderson

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Austria

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.

Community: Pray for Ontario…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

Now you are the body of Christ, and individual members of it. – 1 Corinthians 12:27 (HCSB)
