Matthew 22:23-46

How did Jesus answer the Sadducees? What was their response? What did Jesus teach was the foundation for the entire Old Testament?

Do I know the Scriptures and the power of God, or am I deceived like the Sadducees? How strongly do I believe in the resurrection? Do I love God with everything I am and my neighbors as myself?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Father God, I thank You for the astonishing wisdom and teaching of Jesus. Help me not to be a person who asks baited questions only to make others look bad, but to honestly seek the power and wisdom You give through Your Word. I thank You that You are the God of the living, not of the dead, and that physical death is not the end for Your people! Give me a heart that loves others as I love myself, and instill in me a love for You with all my heart, soul, and mind. I ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Darrell & Fralina Leatham
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Tris & Chris Miller
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael & Jenn Morgan

  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Treasure Valley Churches – For elders, deacons, workers (volunteer and paid), and their families

  • Work/life balance
  • Relationships, good friendships

Therefore, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. – 1 Corinthians 15:58 (HCSB)
