Matthew 25

What is the point of the Parable of the 10 Virgins? Of the Parable of the Talents? Of the analogy of the Sheep and the Goats?

Am I prepared for Jesus’ return? Am I investing the time, resources and abilities He has given me for His kingdom? Am I sure I’m a sheep and not a goat?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, I want to be wise, and ready for Christ’s return. Help me to be prepared and watchful, and keep my light shining for You. Help me to use the gifts You have given me to invest in Your eternal kingdom. May I be one who ministered for You in the power of Your Spirit, and not like the goats who only outwardly ministered but were never truly devoted to You. I ask all of this in the name of the One who gave Himself for me, Jesus Christ. Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brandon & Lindsey Dockins
  • Patti Doty
  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Mattea, Joseph, Joshua, Sophia, Jonathan)
  • Gil & Lois Estes

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for orphans and children in foster care…

  • that they would come to know the adoptive Father-heart of God
  • that they would be positively influenced by Christian workers
  • that God would bring Christian friends alongside them
  • that they would come to salvation
  • that they would be adopted by godly parents

And the King will answer them, ‘I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’ – Matthew 25:40 (HCSB)
