Observation
What problem is Festus facing here? What is Paul’s motive in this speech?
Application
What problems are you facing regarding fully surrendering yourself to God? How badly do you want to see unsaved people in your life come to Christ, and what are you doing about it?
Prayer
Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
My Father and my God, I consider myself incredibly blessed that you allow me the opportunity to share the message of Your redeeming grace. I ask that You would empower me to share it effectively and accurately, and I beg that people would listen to it patiently. I thank You for the hope of rising from the dead, and I thank You that You alone have resurrection power. I thank You that, though I was once Your enemy, through the blood of Christ who I once opposed, I am now Your child. I pray that I would walk in Your Spirit as I go among people, that You would open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to You, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Christ. Help me to be obedient to Your call. I pray that all who listen to the Gospel may become what I am, a believer in Jesus Christ. In His Name I pray, Amen!
Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:
- B – BODY (physical health)
- L – Labor (their job or school)
- E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
- S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
- S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:
- Fred & Shirley Leonard
- Tris & Chris Miller
- Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
- Michael & Jenn Morgan
Ministry:
- Genesis World Mission
CLF:
- That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.
Community: Pray for Ontario…
- That city leaders would submit to God
- That people can find and keep gainful employment
- For sound financial management by city officials
- Salvation for unbelievers
- For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
I pray that your participation in the faith may become effective through knowing every good thing that is in us for the glory of Christ. – Philemon 6 (HCSB)
