1 Samuel 7

What important step did the nation of Israel make in verse 2? What did Samuel tell was necessary if they were serious about it (3)? How did they respond? How did God respond?

Do I seek the Lord? Do I need to return to him with my whole heart and get rid of other things that have taken His place in my life? Do I dedicate myself to Him and worship only Him?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father in Heaven, Give me a heart that seeks after You. Keep me from allowing anything but You to have first place in my life. If anything has taken that place, I now renounce it and remove it. I dedicate myself to You, to worship You alone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew, Maddy)
  • Brandon & Lindsey Dockins
  • Patti Doty
  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Mattea, Joseph, Joshua, Sophia, Jonathan)

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for area pastors and their families:

  • Encouragement
  • Faithfulness in the Lord’s work
  • Finances
  • Marriage/family relationships
  • Work/life balance
  • Deep friendships and support from other Christian leaders

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God. – 3 John 11 (HCSB)
