Why did Jesus appear the first time? Why will he appear the second time?

Am I ready for Jesus’ second appearance?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being the mediator of a new covenant, so that we who are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. Thank You for offering Your blood to pay sin’s penalty and inaugurate the New Covenant, because without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. You did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands but into heaven itself, that You might now appear in the presence of God for us. You did not need to offer Yourself many times, but appeared one time for the removal of sin by the sacrifice of Yourself. And just as it is appointed for people to die once — and after this, judgment — so You, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to us who are waiting for You. Thank You, Jesus! Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Tris & Chris Miller
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael & Jenn Morgan

  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for Public Service Professionals (Firefighters, law enforcement, and medical personnel)…

  • Strength to serve well
  • Safety/health
  • Salvation for lost & ministry opportunities for saved
  • Strong family/marriage relationships
  • Strong, God-honoring friendships

The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment – 2 Peter 2:9 (HCSB)
